Description:

Kantarelli vases, designed in 1947 by Tapio Wirkkala, manufactured by Iittala. The vases have their name from the Chanterelle mushroom. The exterior is engraved with fine vertical lines. Kantarelli is still procuced in elaborate hand work.
Both vases are signed under the base, the bigger one including the year 1959.

Tapio Wirkkala

Tapio Wirkkala (1915 - 1985) was a finnish designer, interior architect and graphic artist. He designed glass and metal objects, porcelain, and wooden furniture. Today, Wirkkala is probably the most famous designer of Finland.

The smaller vase is completely undamaged. The larger one has a tiny chip under the base, which is hardly noticeable.
