Boomerang Easy Chair, Lange & Mitzlaff, ES Soloform
Rare easy chair, designed in 1952 by Albrecht Lange and Hans Mitzlaff for the 'ES Soloform' series, edited by the German manufacturer Eugen Schmidt.
Lange and Mitzlaff desiged a leight-weight, almost floating chair, the exact contrary of the heavy easy chairs usually produced at that time. Many details of the chair are noteworthy, like the boomerang shaped sides and the filligree thread bracing of the back rest.
A few years after Lange and Mitzlaff's chair came out, the danish designers Hvidt and Molgaard-Nielsen designed a very similar piece. The Soloform chair is doubtlessly the original!
