Lounge Chairs, Hein Salomonsen, 1960's
Rare lounge chairs, designed in the 1960's by Hein Salomonsen. The design reminds of van der Rohe's Barcelona Chair, as well as of works by Poul Kjaerholm. With a width of almost 80 cm, the chairs are unusually wide, which make them - despite their rather reduced design - quite prestigious.
Hein Salomonsen (1910-1994) was a Dutch architect and designer. Amongst others, he worked in the studios of Josef Hofmann and Le Corbusier. Later he founded his own studio in Amsterdam. Salomonsen also published the magazine "Goed Wonen", which made him one of the most influential personalities in Dutch furniture design of the 1950's and 60's.
